About Us
Bare & Bold American Hairless Terrier is based in Minot Maine & Ellicott City Maryland. We have more than 30 years in the Show World. Holly Johnson and Tammy Abbott are the faces behind Bare and Bold.
We have been friends for more than 13 years. We joined forces and became breeding partners after Holly reached out to Tammy in Summer of 2022 about a sweet little girl named "Cabby"
Holly asking Tammy if she would be willing to show Cabby in Maine, as many people had not really seen the breed in the New England States. Tammy gracefully said sure she would be happy to even though she was not a big fan of hairless dogs or so Tammy thought. Three days after Cabby arrived at Tammy's house, Tammy called Holly and said," you're not getting your dog back" Two weeks later Tammy Called and said, " Cabby needs a friend"
So then our journey began, and we became breeding partners, knowing that Tammy would carry on the Bare and Bold Bloodlines with the same breeding ethics and integrity as Holly especially since Tammy had mentored Holly in Yorkies. Holly goes up to Maine 2-3 times a year spending time with Tammy and her family for weeks to months at a time.
, We place our entire focus on the betterment of the breed and health testing. We use " Puppy Culture" with a focus on making the transition from our loving home to yours as easy as possible. We strive to breed the best animals we can, educate their new owners and ensure these precious creatures get the love, care and attention they deserve. When Holly's youngest daughter went off to college I started back in the show world with Yorkshire Terriers. I bought my first AHT in 2018 and have never looked back. I have since retired from the Yorkie show world and have placed all my focus on this amazing breed of American Hairless Terrier...
Tammy has been breeding Yorkies for over 22 years in Maine she is well known as Abbra Yorkies. She focuses on quality litters and a small operation in order to take the best possible care of every Yorkie puppy.

Our American Hairless Terriers
We have 1 or 2 litters per year at Bare And Bold AHT. Our dogs come from Grand Champion & Champion bloodlines and have been health-checked by a veterinarian. We take great care in matching our dogs with the right families to ensure a lifetime of happiness.
